In the season 2024/2025 Juraj Holly made his successful role debuts as ROBERTO (Graf von Leicester) in Donizetti’s “Maria Stuarda” Budapest State Opera and as the CHAPLAIN ON THE MONASTERY in Poulenc’s “Les dialogues de Carmélites” at the Braunschweig State Theatre.
In 2019 he sang DON JOSÉ in a special version of “Carmen” at the Theater an der Wien/Vienna Chamber Opera.
Juraj is a regular guest at the Prague and Bratislava State Operas, as well as at the Kosice Opera, where he can be seen in such roles as CONTE ALMAVIA, DON OTTAVIO, FERRANDO, DUCA DI MANTOVA, ALFREDO, the SHEPHERD in “King Roger”, PERCY in “Anna Bolena” or the title role in ROBERTO DEVEREUX.
In July 2018 Juraj Holly made his debut as DON OTTAVIO in “Don Giovanni” at the Mannheim National Theatre. Since then, he could be seen here as the PRINCE in “The Love of the 3 Oranges”, as CASSIO in “Otello”, DANTE in” Francesca da Rimini”, ERNESTO in “Don Pasquale”, NARRABOTH in “Salome”, just to name a few.
In spring 2017 he portrayed CONTE ALMAVIVA in “Il barbiere di Siviglia” at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Opera Zuid.
From 2013 until 2018 the likeable tenor is a member of the Theatre Lübeck and Koblenz ensembles, where he succeeded in such roles as TAMINO in “Die Zauberflöte” CASSIO in “Otello” , ALMAVIVA in “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, ALFRED in “Die Fledermaus”, NARRABOTH or NEMORINO. In autumn 2016 Juraj Hollý made his Japan-debut as TAMINO in Mozar’ts “Die Zauberflöte” on a tour with the Prague National Theatre in Yokohama, Tsukuba and Morioka.
In summer 2016 Juraj Hollý enjoyed huge success as LENSKI at the Belgian Summer Opera Festival Alden Biesen.
Juraj Hollý studied singing with Gurgen Ovsepian at the Music Academy in Bratislava, where he also appeared as DON OTTAVIO. In 2010 he was awarded with the 1. Prize at the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary as well as the Special Prize at the Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition in Vienna. Additionally, he was finalist at the Pietro Antonio Cesti Competition in Innsbruck and he won the 1. Prize at the Mozart Competition in Prague.
After graduating he made his debut as GERNANDO in Haydn’s “L’isola disabitata” at the Vienna Chamber Opera and was the ANGEL OF DEATH in J. N. Hummel’s opera “Crossing the red sea”. In 2011 he appeared as BARDOLFO at the Ostrava National Opera and as PAOLO MONTI in J. Poniatowski’s opera “Pierre de Medicis” at the Festival of Polish Music in Cracow. He sang the title part in Franz Liszt’s DON SANCHEZ at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam at the European Heritage Awards Ceremony under the musical direction of Placido Domingo.
As a member of the International Opera Studio he performed at the Cologne Opera such parts as the PRINCE in Wolf-Ferraris’ “La Cenerentola” and the FIRST PRISONER in “Fidelio”. The young tenor has also experience with contemporary music: he sang HAROLD MITCHELL in Prévin’s “A Streetcar named Desire” and portrayed the part of COUNT APIANI at the world premiere of Marijn Simon’s “Emilia Galotti”.
As a concert soloist Juraj Hollý sang among others Mozart’s Requiem in Germany, Japan and Singapur.
In der Spielzeit 2024/2025 gab Juraj Holly erfolgreiche Rollendebuts als ROBERTO (Graf von Leicester) in Donizettis Maria Stuarda an der Staatsoper Budapest und als BEICHTVATER in Poulencs Les dialogues de Carmélites am Staatstheater Braunschweig.
2019 sang er am Theater an der Wien/Kammeroper Wien den DON JOSÉ in einer speziellen Version von Carmen. 2025/26 ist er in dieser Rolle sowie als ALFREDO in La Traviata am Mainfranken Theater Würzburg zu erleben.
Regelmäßig ist er an den Staatsopern in Prag und Bratislava sowie an der Oper in Kosice in Rollen wie dem CONTE ALMAVIA, DON OTTAVIO, FERRANDO, DUCA DI MANTOVA, ALFREDO, dem SCHÄFER in King Roger, PERCY in Anna Bolena oder der Titelpartie des ROBERTO DEVEREUX zu erleben.
Im Juli 2018 debutierte Juraj Holly als DON OTTAVIO in Don Giovanni am Nationaltheater Mannheim. Hier war er seither als als DUCA in Rigoletto, PRINZ in Die Liebe zu den 3 Orangen, CASSIO in Otello, DANTE in Francesca da Rimini, ERNESTO in Don Pasquale, NARRABOTH in Salome, uvm. zu erleben.
Im Frühjahr 2017 verkörperte er den CONTE ALMAVIVA in Il barbiere die Siviglia im Concertgebouw Amsterdam und an der Opera Zuid.
Von 2013 bis 2018 war der sympathische Tenor Ensemblemitglied an den Theatern Lübeck und Koblenz, wo er mit Rollen wie dem TAMINO in Die Zauberflöte, CASSIO in Otello , ALMAVIVA in Il barbiere di Siviglia, ALFRED in Die Fledermaus, NARRABOTH oder NEMORINO erfolgreich war. Im Herbst 2016 gab Herr Hollý sein Japan-Debut als TAMINO in Mozarts Zauberflöte auf einer Tournee mit dem Nationaltheater Prag in Yokohama, Tsukuba und Morioka.
Sommer 2016 wurde Juraj Hollý als LENSKI bei der belgischen Zomeopera Alden Biesen gefeiert.
Juraj studierte Gesang bei Gurgen Ovsepian an der Musikakademie in Bratislava, wo er bereits während seines Studiums als DON OTTAVIO zu erleben war. 2010 gewann Juraj Holly den 1. Preis beim International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary und den Spezialpreis des Hans Gabor Belvedere Competition in Wien. Zudem war er Finalist beim Pietro Antonio Cesti Wettbewerb in Innsbruck und er gewann den 1. Preis beim Mozart Wettbewerb in Prag.
Nach Abschluß seines Studiums gab er im Oktober 2010 sein Debüt als GERNANDO in Haydns L’isola disabitata an der Wiener Kammeroper und gastierte als ANGEL OF DEATH in J. N. Hummels Oper Crossing the red sea. 2011 sang er BARDOLFO an der Nationaloper Ostrava und PAOLO MONTI in J. Poniatowskis Oper Pierre de Medicis beim Festival of Polnish Music, Krakau sowie die Titelpartie in Franz Liszts DON SANCHEZ im Concertgebouw Amsterdam bei der European Heritage Awards Ceremony unter der Leitung von Placido Domingo.
Als Mitglied des Internationalen Opernstudios sang er an der Oper Köln Partien wie den PPRINZEN in Wolf-Ferraris La Cenerentola und den ERSTEN GEFANGENEN in Fidelio. Der junge Tenor verfügt auch über Erfahrung mit moderner Musik; so sang er den HAROLD MITCHELL in Prévins A Streetcar named Desire und gestaltete die Partie des GRAFEN APIANI bei der Uraufführung von Marijn Simons Emilia Galotti.
Im Konzertfach gastierte Juraj Hollý u.a. mit Mozarts Requiem in Deutschland, Japan und Singapur.
V sezóne 2024/2025 absolvoval Juraj Hollý úspešné debuty v úlohách ROBERTO (gróf z Leicesteru) v Donizettiho opere Maria Stuarda v Maďarskej štátnej opere v Budapešti a KŇAZA (BEICHTVATER) v Poulencovej opere Dialógy karmelitánok (Les Dialogues des Carmélites) v Štátnom divadle Braunschweig.
V roku 2019 stvárnil v Theater an der Wien / Kammeroper Wien postavu DONA JOSÉHO v špeciálnej verzii opery Carmen. V sezóne 2025/2026 sa v tejto úlohe predstaví opäť, rovnako ako v úlohe ALFREDA v opere La Traviata v Mainfranken Theater Würzburg.
Pravidelne hosťuje v Štátnej opere Praha, Slovenskom národnom divadle v Bratislave a Štátnom divadle Košice, kde účinkuje v úlohách CONTE ALMAVIVA, DON OTTAVIO, FERRANDO, DUCA DI MANTOVA, ALFREDO, PASTIER (Schäfer) v opere Kráľ Roger, PERCY v Anna Bolena či v titulnej úlohe opery Roberto Devereux.
V júli 2018 debutoval ako DON OTTAVIO v Mozartovom Donovi Giovannim v Národnom divadle Mannheim. Odvtedy tu stvárnil aj postavy DUCA v Rigolettovi, PRINCA v opere Láska k trom pomarančom, CASSIA v Otellovi, DANTEHO vo Francesca da Rimini, ERNESTA v Donovi Pasqualem, NARRABOTHA v Salome a mnohé ďalšie.
Na jar 2017 účinkoval ako CONTE ALMAVIVA v Rossiniho opere Il barbiere di Siviglia v Concertgebouw Amsterdam a v Opera Zuid.
V rokoch 2013 – 2018 bol členom súborov divadiel v Lübecku a Koblenzi, kde úspešne stvárnil úlohy TAMINA v Čarovnej flaute, CASSIA v Otellovi, ALMAVIVU v Barbierovi zo Sevilly, ALFREDA v Netopierovi, NARRABOTHA a NEMORINA. Na jeseň 2016 debutoval v Japonsku ako TAMINO počas turné Národného divadla Praha s Mozartovou Čarovnou flautou v mestách Jokohama, Tsukuba a Morioka.
V lete 2016 zožal veľký úspech ako LENSKIJ na belgickom opernom festivale Zomeropera Alden Biesen.
Juraj Hollý študoval spev u Gurgena Ovsepiana na Vysokej škole múzických umení v Bratislave, kde už počas štúdia účinkoval ako DON OTTAVIO. V roku 2010 získal 1. cenu na Medzinárodnej speváckej súťaži Antonína Dvořáka v Karlových Varoch a špeciálnu cenu na súťaži Hans Gabor Belvedere vo Viedni. Bol tiež finalistom súťaže Pietro Antonio Cesti v Innsbrucku a získal 1. cenu na Mozartovej speváckej súťaži v Prahe.
Po ukončení štúdia debutoval v októbri 2010 vo Viedenskej komornej opere ako GERNANDO v Haydnovej opere L’isola disabitata a hosťoval ako ANGEL OF DEATH v Hummelovej opere Crossing the Red Sea. V roku 2011 spieval BARDOLFA v Národnom divadle Ostrava, PAOLA MONTIHO v opere Pierre de Medicis od J. Poniatowského na Festivale poľskej hudby v Krakove a titulnú úlohu v Lisztovej opere Don Sanchez v Concertgebouw Amsterdam počas slávnostného udeľovania European Heritage Awards, pod taktovkou Plácida Dominga.
Ako člen Medzinárodného operného štúdia Opery Köln stvárnil úlohy PRINCA vo Wolf-Ferrariho La Cenerentola a PRVÉHO VÄZŇA vo Beethovenovom Fideliovi. Mladý tenor má tiež bohaté skúsenosti s modernou operou – účinkoval ako HAROLD MITCHELL v opere A Streetcar Named Desire od Andrého Previna a vytvoril postavu GRÓFA APIANIHO pri svetovej premiére opery Emilia Galotti skladateľa Marijna Simonsa.
Na koncertných pódiách vystúpil Juraj Hollý okrem iného s Mozartovým Rekviem v Nemecku, Japonsku a Singapure.
